(Hippocrates)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Na twee jaar zijn we eindelijk weer in ons geliefde Oostenrijk voor een wandelvakantie in de bergen. Vandaag besluiten we, op onze tweede wandeldag, naar de Muttj\u00f6chle op 2.074 meter te wandelen. Vertrekpunt is de Kristbergbahn op 1.443 meter. Volgens de kaart moeten we dus ruim 600 hoogtemeters overbruggen. Het pad is voor ons nog nieuw. Vanuit de lift nemen we meteen een smal bospad dat van meet af aan stijgt. Tussen de laaghangende wolken doen de blauwe bessenstruiken, het mosachtige gras en de smalle hoge dennenbomen surrealistisch aan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iedere stap die ik zet, is er \u00e9\u00e9n omhoog. Alsof ik een rotsachtige trap op loop die elke trede weer anders gevormd is. Daardoor gaat mijn hart sneller kloppen en begin ik al vlot te &#8216;hijgen&#8217;. Ook mijn beenspieren moeten hard werken. Omdat ik goed moet opletten waar ik loop, raakt mijn hoofd al snel leeg. Volle focus op elke stap. De rest is niet belangrijk. Geen enkele zorg belemmert mij op dit moment. Er is alleen het hier en nu. Na een kleine anderhalf uur stijgen, laten we de boomgrens achter ons. Het laatste rotsachtige stuk naar de top van de berg neemt nog een half uur in beslag. Er staat een groot kruis dat nauwelijks te zien is in de wolken. We rusten even uit voordat we aan de afdaling beginnen. Dalen vind ik persoonlijk moeilijker dan klimmen. Ik gebruik er andere spieren voor en mijn knie\u00ebn zijn er niet zo blij mee.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter is-style-rectangular\"><div voor mij een belangrijk onderdeel van mijn dag. Ik vind het ook \u00e9cht lekker. Dat wandelen gezond is, is geen geheim. De Griekse filosoof Hippocrates zei 400 jaar voor de jaartelling al dat<em> &#8216;Walking a man&#8217;s best medicine is!&#8217;<\/em>. Wijze woorden! Maar waarom is juist wandelen zo gezond? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>De effecten van minimaal 30 minuten wandelen per dag<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Lichamelijke conditie<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wandelen is een spiertraining. Je krijgt er sterkere been-, bil-, buik- en rugspieren van. <\/li><li>Wandelen maakt slanker. Met wandelen verbrand je calorie\u00ebn. Een uurtje wandelen kost zo 250 &#8211; 400 calorie\u00ebn. Je kunt ze maar kwijt zijn. <\/li><li>Wandelen zorgt voor stevigere  botten. Het regelmatig belasten van je botten maakt ze sterker. <\/li><li>Wandelen is goed voor hart, bloedvaten en longen. Wandelen verlaagt je bloeddruk en je cholesterolgehalte. Het risico op hartproblemen neemt hiermee af. Daarnaast vergroot wandelen het vermogen van je longen om zuurstof op te nemen. <\/li><li>Wandelen verlaagt ook het risico op diabetes type 2 met, naar blijkt, 58%. <\/li><li>Wandelen bevordert de spijsvertering waardoor de stoelgang beter wordt.<\/li><li>Wandelen verhoogt de weerstand.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Geestelijke conditie<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wandelen verhoogt je creativiteit met 60%, zeggen onderzoekers. Waarom? Geen idee&#8230; Maar ik merk dat ik tijdens het wandelen vaak goede idee\u00ebn krijg en ik daardoor effectiever werk.   <\/li><li>Wandelen blijkt ook een goede geheugentraining te zijn. Door wandelen neemt het volume van je hersenen toe en verbetert je geheugen aanzienlijk.  <\/li><li>Wandelen ontspant. Ook gestreste en depressieve mensen hebben baat bij wandelen. Er komen allerlei &#8216;gelukshormonen&#8217; vrij waardoor je je beter gaat voelen. <\/li><li>Wandelen verbetert je slaappatroon. Goede slaap is weer belangrijk voor een gezond lichaam en uitgeruste geest. <\/li><li>Wandelen zorgt ook dat je beter afstand kunt nemen van problemen of uitdagingen. Door te wandelen krijg je letterlijk een ander perspectief. Daardoor kan ik zaken opnieuw structureren en heb ik weer overzicht. <\/li><li>Wandelen zorgt voor lichamelijke beweging waardoor je hersenen ook in beweging komen. Hierdoor wordt het malen en piekeren minder. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ik vond op internet een interessant filmpje over de positieve (en negatieve) effecten van (niet) bewegen. Hierin geeft doctor Mike aan wat de gevolgen zijn van dagelijks 30 minuten matig intensief bewegen.
